The Family Giving Tree Foundation gets your children involved in the giving process.  So many activities for children today encourage the idea of immediate gratification, but unfortunately, many of these lessons are quickly forgotten. Our extensive list of educational materials and ongoing workshops will help you build excitement about the giving process all year long.  

2. The Foundation teaches young people about how philanthropy—not just charity—works.  By teaching young people about growing a fund to leverage more benefit, the Foundation equips the next generation of philanthropists with an early understanding of how contributions can impact society for years to come.  

3. The Foundation helps you to coordinate your entire extended family to give together in a coordinated fashion.  We let you define what "family" means and help you stay in touch about your giving goals all year long.

Why is the Family Giving Tree Foundation a nonprofit?

The Family Giving Tree Foundation is a nonprofit because its focus is on family education and giving (with no strings attached).  While the Foundation will attempt to cover its costs through revenue generating activities, the mission is to educate the rising generation rather than to generate significant dollars.   As a stand alone for-profit operation, the Foundation could not exist because it uses a model that intentionally subsidizes small transactions for the sake of hands-on learning.
